SAAB J-29 TUNNAN


The first prototype flew on 1 September 1948 and the first production aircraft entered service in 1951, it was the first swept-wing aircraft of western European to enter service after World War II. Saw limited action in support of UN forces during Congo crisis in 1962-1963. also being the first Swedish aircraft to be exported, several being delivered to Austrian. Variants including A-29 (Ground Attack), S-29 (Reconnaissance), J-29D (Experimental with afterburner), J-29E (Interceptor with ‘saw-tooth’ wing)
